This article, America Has a Surprising New Favorite Room in the House, amused me this morning. Apparently, its the master bedroom. Why? Because, to quote from the article, it's the place "they can hide from their family members."
I think this is funny for a couple of reasons. First, it's amazing what a few months in close confines with our family members can do. Suddenly we need to escape and rethink our housing choices. Remembering of course that for the vast majority of civilization's history, families have always lived together in close confines. And not just immediate families, but extended as well. And...this is still true. Due to budgets or culture or other factors, lots of people throughout the world and the country live together with their extended families and are together with them a lot. But for the survey respondents--and we don't know the survey techniques and demographics--these few months have sent them running to the bedroom.
Which is the other funny thing...for many households, the master bedroom is not a place only one person habitually inhabits. So...are they really running away from family members, or too specific ones? Hmm...
