It's Friday, so that means it's recipe day! Hurrah!
One of the things the pandemic has done is driven people to the kitchen to discover (or rediscover) baking. Many of them, apparently, decided cookies weren't enough and dove head first down the sourdough rabbit hole. They mixed flour and water, marveled at the fermentation process (though possibly not the day it smells like feet...but that's another story), and diligently fed their new lifeform. They made bread! Glorious (well, sometimes) bread! Yum.
Of course, one of the unforeseen consequences for the newfound sourdough baker is that you end up having a lot of sourdough starter lying around. This is because you have to feed the starter each day, which involves discarding most of it and then adding more flour and water. Now, you can simply and truly discard it, but really that's kind of a waste. But if you don't, you have to find a way to use it. Luckily, there are many recipes that can help!
Today's recipe is one of those--Sourdough Cinnamon Crumb Cake. This delicious and relatively quick cake was developed by King Arthur Baking Company. I am an avid baker and a huge proponent of KABC and their products. Rarely have I tried any recipe that isn't delicious. I won't say easy; many of their recipes assume you know your way around the baking kitchen at least a little. But it's worth gaining the knowledge. The site also has professional bakers ready to chat with you to help you with issues and questions.
