Urban League of Greater Madison announces new home ownership program

Dr. Ruben Anthony, CEO of Urban League of Greater Madison, announced last week a new $5,000,000 program to help increase home ownership among Black Madisonians. Home ownership in Madison's Black community is roughly 12%, well below 40+% nationwide and 23% in Wisconsin. These are stark and troubling numbers and desperately need to be addressed. This program is a step in the right direction towards doing that.
I am proud to say that I and a small group of other Realtors are pledging to support this program. We are all pledging to contribute portions of our commissions to it for at least the next year. Our hope is that our example will entice other Realtors in the area to do the same and allow the Urban League to grow this program even further.
