Recently, there have been a lot of stories circulating about the real estate market; demand is spiking, inventory is low, prices are soaring. And honestly, it's all true. But stories like that can also make people who are considering buying a house--especially their first house--despair a little. Or a lot. Questions plague these buyers--How can we afford a house? Can we even compete? Is it even going to be worth it to try?
These questions are valid. But there is hope! As I've written before, houses can be had if you are willing to expand your search parameters and be flexible. To help buyers do that, I'm launching this semi-regular blog post Thursday Housing Highlights (I'm sucker for alliteration)! Periodically, I'll feature area properties that are available and affordable. They'll all be roughly within a 30 minute commute to the Capital Square and be $225000 and under.
Today's list features properties in Oregon, Black Earth, Sun Prairie...and even two in Madison. Some have been on the market a bit, a couple need a new item or two (but are not "fixer uppers"), and all are available now!
Yes, it's a hot market. But you can find a house. I promise. Maybe even one of these.
